Firstly, welcome to my website, I'm Cath. You've already made an important first step by visiting here; and let me reassure you that you are not alone.

I provide a warm, confidential environment, where you have the opportunity to be listened to and to explore some of the difficulties you may be experiencing. I work with adult clients.I am passionate about supporting women through life's endeavours, however I also work with young people between the ages of 11 and 18.

Since Coronavirus -19 impacted our lives earlier on this year, I have moved to working online and have completed online and telephone counselling training, approved by ACTO (Association for Counselling and Therapy Online) and recognised by the NCS (National Counselling Society)

I am an Accredited Registrant Member of The National Counselling Society (NCS), and prior to embarking on my counselling journey worked as a qualified nurse and subsequently a midwife.  I have also worked within the education system offering support to children and young adults for numerous years. This, coupled with my personal experience of counselling, prompted me to train as a counsellor.

So why work with me?

I've made a positive difference to many people's lives. Alongside my private practice, until recently, I worked as a volunteer counselling in a sixth form college. I also worked with an organisation that counsels survivors of rape and sexual abuse, supporting in particular young people under the age of 18. Using my counselling skills, previous work experiences and life in general, enables me to work with you as an individual, focusing on your specific experiences and needs.  Together we can explore the changes in your life that you want to make.

I am a member of a number of national organisations including National Counselling Society (NCS). As an Accredited Registrant of the NCS I am bound by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, and subject to the Professional Conduct Procedure for the time being in force. I hold full Professional Liability Insurance and a clear enhanced DBS, formally referred to as CRB.
